About

Jun Tellez (b. 2004) is a mixed media artist living in Portland, Oregon. Their work grapples with feminism and politics, specifically centering on issues faced by first-generation Mexican Americans. They work with many underlying topics and are inspired by real life events, but currently, they are focusing on the effects of I.C.E. terror on people of color in the United States. Their artworks show the truth of immigrant families and the reality of the “American Dream” for people of color in the United States. Jun primarily works with text, Graphic Design, video, and drawing. And is currently working on new ways to make art across different art forms by using those art forms they plan to use in ways to show real life events happening in the world or themselves.
They believe that by sharing their artwork on social media, they can open others' minds and show what it's really like to live in the “American Dream”. They desire to connect with other people in a common struggle and build strength together. Strength is the ending result of what they plan to achieve as an artist. They are currently completing their BFA in Art Practice with a minor in Graphic Design at Portland State University.
